PhosAgro/UNESCO/IUPAC International Symposium
Green Chemistry: Driving Force for Innovations and Sustainable Development

(Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, 11 September 2018)

Programme

Introduction

The Symposium will focus on some promising areas of green chemistry research that may bring about innovative, science-based solutions to problems encountered by society, particularly those relating to the environment, human health, energy savings and everyday life. It will also highlight actions to be taken to increase the awareness of policy- and decision-makers, as well as the public at large, of the opportunities green chemistry offers for improving the quality of life, and the dialogue that may be developed at national and international levels to propel use of the fruits of green chemistry.

In 10-15 minute presentations, renowned promoters of international co-operation in the chemical sciences, prominent scientists and a younger generation of scientists involved in the PhosAgro/UNESCO/IUPAC Partnership in Green Chemistry for Life, as well as talented researchers from Thai institutes will share information on their research and/or present their vision of the development of green chemistry and their commitment to this. Their presentations will also focus on the efforts being undertaken by national or international scientific or industrial institutions concerned with green chemistry and/or the experience these institutions are gaining. These presentations and the ensuing Q&A and general discussion will be conducive to a useful dialogue on priorities in green chemistry research and its societal impact to be taken into consideration for future actions.

The Symposium is open to all participants in the ICGC.
